Gwen Garrison, President/Financial Advisor
Phone: 678-364-9677 Email: Gwen@LifePlanFin.com
One of Gwen Garrison’s strongest passions is helping women improve their financial situation, despite the challenges they face. Prior to forming LifePlan Financial Advisors, she graduated from University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Working for advertising and PR firms, she spent the next 15 years explaining complicated medical, scientific and technology subjects in the simplest way possible, and she owned her own firm for five years.
A high-pressure, deadline business and three children under 5 did not mix well, so she changed careers in 1997. Gwen decided to become a financial advisor to help people make better financial decisions. She obtained her securities and insurance licenses, along with intensive training. Each year she completes more than 40 hours of continuing education. Gwen’s ability to explain complex information in ways that helps people makes sense of it has been a skill that her clients appreciate.
Gwen has also experienced first-hand the perils of depending on someone else to handle your personal finances, so she is passionate about empowering women to improve their financial life. After 11 years with financial planning firms in Atlanta Gwen founded LifePlan Financial Advisors in 2008. Out of the 200 families she serves, about 70% are headed by women. They appreciate her experience as a working single mom, part of a blended family, and having been a caregiver for her elderly father, because she understands the stressful demands of those situations first-hand.
Gwen lives in Newnan, GA with her husband, Nick. Together, they have five adult daughters, one son and seven grandchildren. In her spare time, Gwen enjoys photography, golf, reading, and playing with the grandkids
